Description

The candidate needs to have an entrepreneurial mindset, with strong creative flair, and able to think out-of-the-box to create win-win propositions for complex ecosystem partnerships and generate new leads that cumulate to the adoption of AI/Data by the industries.

The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability, with proven track records, to engage industries at leadership level, providing change management and management consulting services. 

The candidate will also need to have track records in helping transform enterprises digitally and/or implementing new AI/Data solutions for enterprises. The candidate needs to be a proven AI practitioner with sound technical achievements in AI/Data domains.  

Responsibilities:

  • Lead engagements with internal IMDA stakeholders as well as industry partners to generate demand and build new ecosystem to accelerate adoption of AI/Data by the industries.
  • Provide business/management consultancy service to industry partners with the objective of developing new value proposition of AI/Data for the industries, and business use cases for AI/Data, and to obtain buy-in from the industries for the use cases.
  • Perform regular scan of the business and technology landscape pertaining to AI/Data in order to identify new technology/business gaps whereby there are potential opportunities for demand/supply aggregation.
  • Build close networks with industry partners, and research communities to continually understand industry’s technology requirements, and bridging them with the technology capabilities within the local ecosystem.  
  • Provide business directions and technical guidance to the Tech-Engineering team to help manage a growing portfolio of projects to successful commercial conclusion, including to ensure that the outcomes of the projects can achieve high impact and scalability across enterprises. This includes:
  • Working/building relationship with, and influencing stakeholders, including technology partners and research community for purposes of:
  • Marketing products, solutions and related technologies to potential end-users;
  • Commercialising technologies, newly developed in partnerships with industry partners, and IHLs/RIs;
  • Managing the formation of spin-out companies, and associated activities, e.g. supporting post-deal activities, including renewals to licenses;
  • Other activities necessary for the exploitation of technologies developed, e.g. establishing/refining business models, presenting to/influencing a diverse groups of stakeholders, forming partnerships and commercialising projects conceived with industry partners, etc

Requirements

  • background in engineering, science or business; Dual degrees in both technology/engineering/science and business would be an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business consultancy for technical products/services in AI/Data.
  • At least 10 years of experience as an AI practitioner (ranging from AI R&D to AI implementation).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively and engage with diverse group of stakeholders, including experience with C-level engagements in large-scale corporate environment.
  • Able to relate technical concepts to business/economic impact with ease
  • Experience in ecosystem level partnership management, project and vendor management
  • Firm grasp of AI/Data related technologies, and able to articulate the sophisticated technical concepts to business stakeholders/end users in their context to seek their buy-in.
  • Experience in an IHL and/or high growth technology company highly desired 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of patents, copyrights and other forms of IP
  • Team player with the ability to work in a cross functional team
