Job Description 

• Good knowledge of emerging technology areas such as artificial intelligence

• IoT, immersive media, cybersecurity, mobile communications and blockchain 

• Perform market research and industry analysis to study effects of emerging technologies on target industry sectors 

• Conduct secondary research for emerging technology areas, and to synthesise findings from published reports, patent analysis, industry sources, competitive assessments and third-party data analysis 

• Identify key trends of emerging technologies, market potential and investments by technology areas in local and global landscapes 

• Identify challenges and opportunities for research communities and industry sectors, and impact of emerging technologies for these target audiences 

• Conduct focus group discussions and interviews with key research performers, industry stakeholders and analysts to validate hypothesis and gather intelligence for developing supply demand and gap analysis 

• Prepare periodic research reports and presentation materials with key facts and figures of each technology area and their adoption by industry sectors, and present findings

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop technology think pieces for targeted industry sectors supported with rich research data 

Qualifications/ Requirements : 

• Possess a background in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology,  Economics or equivalent 

• Up to 15 years of relevant experience in research, analyst, M&A or consulting roles. 

• Candidates with the right capabilities may apply 

• Strong business acumen with exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities 

• Ability to think critically, frame thoughtful opinions and insightful questions, and attention to details 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication (writing and presentation) skills 

• Proficient in business analysis tools such as SWOT and prioritisation frameworks 

• Good time management skills and willingness to work in a demanding and  result-oriented team environment 

• Experience working with local research communities will be beneficial Position will commensurate with experience.
